Gil Beyen - Representative of Gil Beyen BVBA, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Gil Beyen is TiGenix' Co-founder and CEO. He is also a manager of AxxisV&C BVBA, as well as member of the board of Ecloosion SA and FlandersBio VZW, and commissioner for the Flemish government on the board of the Flemish Institute of Biotechnology (VIB). Before founding TiGenix, Gil worked as a management consultant at Arthur D. Little (ADL) in Brussels, where he was responsible for their healthcare and biotechnology practice. In this function, he has assisted a broad range of companies in the biomedical and biotech industries through different stages of their growth. Gil gained an MSc in bioengineering from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium) in 1984 and obtained an MBA from the University of Chicago (U.S.) in 1990.
Frank Hazevoets - Chief Financial Officer (CFO) & Company Secretary
Frank Hazevoets is TiGenix' Chief Financial Officer. Before joining TiGenix, he worked during 15 years in corporate finance in different international companies such as ING and InBev. In the course of his career, Frank has been involved in financial management and structuring, accompanying several IPO transactions and leading over ten M&A deals. Frank holds a commercial engineering degree and a Masters in artificial intelligence and cognitive sciences from the University of Leuven.
Wilfried Dalemans - Chief Technical Officer (CTO)
Wilfried Dalemans is TiGenix' Chief Technical Officer. Before joining TiGenix, he held several senior management positions at GlaxoSmithKline Biologicals, Belgium. As Director regulatory strategy and development, he was responsible for the worldwide registration of GlaxoSmithKline's flu franchise. With this firm, he also served as Director of molecular biology and research, responsible for the development of nucleic acid and tuberculosis vaccines, as well as immunology research activities. Prior to joining GlaxoSmithKline, Wilfried worked at Transgène, France, where he was responsible for the cystic fibrosis research program. Wilfried holds a PhD in molecular biology from the Universities of Hasselt and Leuven.
Koenraad Blot - Representative of Koenraad Blot BVBA, Chief Medical Officer (CMO)
Koenraad Blot bvba, represented by Koenraad Blot, MD, was appointed as Chief Medical Officer of TiGenix in September 2009. Prior to this, Koenraad Blot was Chief Medical Officer at elbion. Koenraad started his career in the pharmaceutical industry at Pfizer Belgium in 1992 and held positions of increasing responsibility at Pfizer Headquarters (USA) and Pfizer Canada. In 2005, he joined Theratechnologies (Montreal, Canada) as Head of Clinical Development, successfully delivering the first Phase 3 study for the company’s lead product Tesamorelin. Koenraad Blot holds an MD from Ghent University and a diploma in tropical medicine from the Prince Leopold Institute for Tropical Medicine, Antwerp.
Andrew Lynn - Chief Business Officer (CBO)
Andrew Lynn is TiGenix' Chief Business Officer. Before joining TiGenix, Andrew founded the regenerative medical device company Orthomimetics Ltd. During his four year tenure as Orthomimetic's CEO, the company raised £7.5million in venture capital and grant funding, established commercial-scale manufacturing capabilities and brought the flagship product through pilot clinical trials to market. His previous experience in the field of orthopaedics has included the management and implementation of product-focused programs involving artificial prostheses for joint replacement and tissue regeneration scaffolds for orthopaedic, neurosurgical, and thoracic applications. Andrew received his PhD in Materials Science from the University of Cambridge, UK.
Patrick Haelterman - Vice President, Sales and Marketing EU
Patrick Haelterman is TiGenix' VP of Sales and Marketing (EU). He spent 18 years working in the medical devices industry, which included 14 years working at Guidant (now Abbott Vascular). Patrick has extensive experience in sales and marketing in a variety of international markets and has also spent several years in clinical research and HR, particularly recruitment and talent development. Patrick holds a degree in nursing and an MBA from IMD in Lausanne.
